Do not Fear

Mark 6:30-44

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Overcoming fear is something we all face when we endeavor to do new things:

Take a new job.

Fall in love.

Create a new product.

Start a business.

Pay our tithes or give out of our tight budget.

Friends, when we consider where to invest, we must face the fear of failure. In short, there can be no progress in life without taking risks; you cannot succeed in life if you give in to fear.

If we do not face off with our fears, they will keep us from living the victorious life that God meant for us. And we will suffer the regret of what could have, would have or should have been

Ø A turn around for the better

Ø Grace to fulfil my destiny

Ø I will not make costly error or mistake.

When you afraid of failure that you don’t try you cannot please God. You cannot “Play it safe” and please God. I receive a text message from a rich man.

In our sermon series, we learnt in the past two weeks that it is possible to live on four different levels of financial reality:

v The bag level: This is the level you hold tight to the little you have. You are afraid to pay your tithe or give generous offering. Many Christians are born – again 5, 10 years ago and they are still afraid to tithe and there offering is still $1 or $5. At that level of thinking, if don’t change you are like to continue to be on perpetual struggle or not enough; my advice minimum of $21 as offering on Sunday $3 per day.

v Barrel level: Is where you have enough to pay your bills providing for your family. That is the level many Christians are today but God wants us to move from barrel to basket level. Many of us will remember the story of a boy in Mark 6 who offered his lunch to feed the multitude. He got up that morning and put five little loaves of bread and two fish in his lunch basket. The bible says that after Jesus had taught the multitude of more than 5,000 people, they were hungry. Jesus asked His disciples to feed them. They were astonished at the suggestion to feed all these people. Their answer was to send them away.

They told Jesus that all the food they had seen was a little boy’s lunch of five loaves of bread and two fish. Jesus told them to bring them to Him. Jesus told took the loaves and fish, blessed them broke them and then gave them to the people.

This is the save process that you must go through purpose of God for your life. Jesus takes away our sins, set us free, and blesses us we love this aspect it feels so good to be free from sin and to have the blessing of God on our life’s

Then, He begins the breaking process to change our thinking, our selfish desires and our wrong choices. That is the part we want to skip. But He is breaking you because He wants to “give” you to the people. Gods wants to make you a blessing to others, to your community, and even to the nations of the world.

When that, little boy offered his lunch to the master, Jesus blessed his basket and used it to satisfy his whole community. All the people were fed from the miraculous multiplication of that little lunch, and there were 12 basketfuls left over.

When you give what you have to God, who is the rightful owner, He will bless it and multiply it to meet every need: God wants to move you personally and the entire body of Christ from the barrel level of having just enough to the basket level of providing for the needs of others.

After that community was blessed, the little boy showed up at home with basketfuls left over. If you are living in the barrel level of having just enough you need to know there is another level that is more than enough. God wants to release you to increase and fruitfulness.

We need to become people who are looking to bless others. Then God will increase our basket level until it reaches beyond it to the 4th level of financial reality. The barn level.
