CHARACTERS OF ESTHER
Character is defined as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Esther unique character is worth emulating. She was regarded as one of the greatest Jewish women in history, and this was as a result of her character, we will talk about some of her characters.
- She believed in her hidden identity/ power: She kept her hidden identity as a Jew in the palace, and her actions ultimately saved the Jews. She knew when to talk and when to keep quiet, she knew who she was, who you are, is different from what you do. Who are you? A royal priesthood, a princess, an ambassador for Christ.
- She was Faithful: Esther never revealed her people. Esther 2V10.
- She was Obedient: Esther 2v20: When Mordecai sent word to her about the great danger their people were facing, she could have simply tried to save herself or turned the other way, but she knew god has given her great purpose in her position, she was wise and she made plans,
- She respected people in authority and was humble. Esther 7V3
- She was Caring: By risking her life for others, she cared more for other people than herself, by putting her life in jeopardy.
- She was loving: She loved her kindred and didn’t forget her people when she became a queen, and she united them . Esther 8V6.
- She understood spiritual warfare: God does not need us in accomplishing his rule, but we certainly need God as we carry out our daily responsibility. Esther 4V16. Fasting and prayer brings clarity.
- She knew how to listen to other people and never underrated anyone: when she got to the palace she was placed under the care of Hegai the king servant she never looked underrated him and Hegai was instrumental in helping Esther with the king.
- She was Principled: Esther as a Jew ate only kosher food, and when the king went out of his way to persuade her to tell him her national origin, he threw a party, gave tax break and even promised to marry another, she stood her ground and her principle guided her.
She was Brave, Selfless and Courageous: She gathered the Jews to fast and she also fasted with her maids, and she said I will go to the king, if “IF I PERISH I PERISH”. Esther 4v16.
Esther had a choice not to all this, everything we do in life is all about our choice, remember God place us in a position or strategic location with great purpose in mind, and where we find ourselves most time is not about ourselves but about him.

To increase your faith, let me share these two testimonies among others: one of my spiritual sons who left this church more than a decade mailed a check to us in October as Pastor’s appreciation gift and another one, a pastor whom we have known for more than seven years without any gift remembered mummy pastor on her birthday and gave her a check. You may say luck or coincidence. No sir/ma, it is a reward of obedience. Whatever God asks us to tell you, my family obeys such Divine Instructions. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
