The Siege Is Over…
Romans 6:1-2 says
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
To the glory of God, in the last 30 days, we have listened to various messages on our theme for this month: *the siege is over*.
One common point among all the preachers is that disobedience to the words of God can lead to a siege. For example, until David had an illicit affair with Bathsheba and killed her husband, his kingdom was peaceful. But as soon as he committed this atrocity, peace eluded his kingdom. 2 Chronicles chapters 14, 15 and 16 contain the story of King Asa. Like Solomon he started very well according to 2 Chronicles 14:1-2 & 7 which says Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord. In verse 11, when Asa feared and obeyed God, whenever there was a problem, he would call on God and he would receive timely answer to his prayer. Did he end well? No. Why? He shifted focus from God to man and when the man of God told him the truth (2 Chro 16:7-10) he became angry. Is that not the situation of many Christians today? We prefer to hear messages of deceit that boast our ego instead of listening to the words of God that can help us to fulfill destiny.
When someone tells us the truth about the words of God and give us Godly advice or suggestion, and it is not agreeable with our native intelligence, three things can happen:
1.We can IGNORE it like Eli
2. We can be ANGRY like Herod
3. We can REPENT and CHANGE our way of thinking and doing the right thing like David.
The first two characters paid dearly for their ignorant and actions while David triumphed over sinful nature and made an all round success, breakthrough and progress as a King. It is easier to listen to someone who tells us what we want to hear but those people will not help us to go far in life.
Pharaoh, Samson, Nebuchadnezer, Gehazi were warned and advised BUT Pride and too know made them not to heed warnings.
Many of us know the right thing to do but instead of doing the right thing, we listen to the suggestions of unfriendly friends.
May I tell you the truth of how to attain Divine Greatness: how far you will go in life is in the hands of God and yourself (Jeremiah 29:11). God has a great plan for us and the only person to truncate it is ourself through ignorant and disobedience. When we begin to honor and obey God, He will continue to favor us, bless us, send timely destiny helpers and enlarge our coast. The choice is ours.
Today may the dew of heaven fall upon you and your book of remembrance shall be opened in Jesus precious name. I decree, you shall become notable achiever and a celebrant before the this year is over. Those who are looking for people to favor this time around will locate you in Jesus precious name. For the rest of your life, you will never taste bitterness, sorrow, pain or ache.
Remember the second coming of Jesus Christ is near. Always endeavor to honor and obey Jesus.
Two Other Things
1. Our Theme for September is *Victorious Mindset*. Whatever you will become in life starts from your mind…the way you think. How rich you will be depends on your mindset. To many struggling Christians, their problem is not their income BUT ignorant of Biblical principles.
Poor people will never give because of poverty mindset/poverty mentality. Why? They see themselves as poor and based their living on pity-party. Church, the way out of poverty in life is heart of generosity not hoarding. Have you ever wonder: if 10 of the people we call unbeliever gather to raise fund, they can raise $10,000 but if 100 *holy spirit-filled Christians* gathered and raised $1,000, people with poverty mindset will say great giving. No wonder, many Christians are poor, they struggle in life and move from pay check to pay check.
One thing I learnt from my late mother: the act of sacrificial giving. When my mother cooked, if two unexpected visitors came, they would still eat. My lunch money was half-penny per day in the 60’s but my offering every Sunday was one penny…double my lunch money. Every Sunday, my mother would not fail to give me offering money.I shared with you before, the only thing I didn’t know (ignorant) until when I became born again in my 40’s was tithing. I paid dearly for this ignorant due to various money lost through wrong investments. Today I know better. I would prefer to go hungry rather than not to tithe. Why? I am investing in my future and generations to come. There are many of us since March 15, we have not given a dollar out of our income to support the kingdom: change your mindset today. I do the recording since March 15 since about 95% of our giving is now through CashApp and PayPal
What you gain in supporting the Kingdom will always be more than what you give. Be Wise.
